The short version
- Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted by default. Only the people in the chat can read them. Not your homeserver, and not us.
- Your messages don't go through Angaara's servers. The app talks straight to your Matrix homeserver (like matrix.org). Angaara's own server only runs a few extras, like XP and bug reports.
- No ads, trackers or analytics. The app has no third-party tracking scripts.
- Crash and bug reports are anonymous. They don't include your account, user ID or the rooms you're in.
- You can switch our servers off. Private mode stops the app from contacting Angaara's server at all. How it works.
- It's open source. Anyone can read the code and check all of this for themselves.
